The Stockholm Criminology Symposium is an annual event, attracting more than 500 attendees from over 30 countries around the world. The symposium has become a true meeting point for those who want to learn from the latest research findings of importance for crime policy. We offer three days filled with a large number of presentations of projects, programs, academic research or studies and inquiries conducted by public sector agencies.

Jan van Dijk winner of the 2012 Stockholm Prize in Criminology

The Stockholm Prize in Criminology has been awarded to Professor Jan van Dijk of the University of Tilburg, the Netherlands, for his sustained leadership of the International Crime Victims Survey (ICVS) since 1989. Jan van Dijk holds the Pieter van Vollenhoven chair in Victimology, Human Security and Safety at the University of Tilburg. He is one of the world´s leading scientists in victimology and serves as programme director of INTERVICT (International Victimology Institute Tilburg).
